2021 Fresno Pride update

This statement is from Community Link, Inc. (the organizing body of Fresno Rainbow Pride) and no edits of any kind have been made to its content.

We FINALLY have some news we can confirm and has been approved.

Fresno Rainbow Pride has been patiently waiting to be given the go ahead to put on the annual Pride Parade and Festival. The COVID 19 pandemic of 2020 put a halt to all large in person events last year and while we have been hopeful to organize the Pride Parade and Festival the first Saturday of June 2021, it is now apparent that this type of celebration will not be feasible this year.

Fresno Rainbow Pride has been making plans for a variety reopening scenarios all depending on the course of the pandemic. Plans A-Z, A being our large scale celebration with a parade and a big party festival. Z being not being able to do anything at all.

While we cannot put on the Parade and Festival this year we have put into place several virtual and socially distance and safe in person events. Here is a rundown of what we will be putting together for our community.

DRAG DIVA DRIVE-IN SHOW & SHOTS–

Saturday, May 22nd at Island Water Park parking lot. Located at 6099 W. Barstow Ave, 93723, 7-10 PM.

Drive-in drag show and COVID vaccination clinic. Entry is $20/car (as many folks as your vehicle will seat legally). Fresno Rainbow Pride is partnering with The Fresno County Public Health and UCSF for the vaccination clinic. UCSF will be doing the shots. It will be the one shot Johnson and Johnson vaccine. The show is the main event and the shots are a side benefit for those interested in getting Vaccinated. Our other partners are Island Waterpark and Barb’s Drive-In. This is again an all ages event. Social distancing and the wearing of proper facial masks are required.

BOWLING FOR PRIDE—

Sunday, May 23rd. Bowling starts at 1pm at Bowlero, located at 6450 N. Blackstone Ave. $25 per person – includes 3 games (on average about two hours of fun) and shoes. Raffles, and fun. Food and drinks available through Bowlero. Put on by Ray Quenga, family and friends for Fresno Rainbow Pride.

This event is free of charge to all attendees and our sponsors and the groups that provide services to our community. Plus there will be a COVID vaccine clinic where you can get your vaccine as you sit in your car if you would like to get your shot.
