Fresno Reel Pride cancels in-person film festival

The premier gay and lesbian film festival in the Central Valley has canceled their annual in-person event regularly scheduled every September. While this news is sad, it was not only expected, but I firmly believe in the best interest and safety of our local community. Here is the official statement, no doubt, direct from their board of directors…

Our upcoming annual film festival will not take place as slated for September 2020.We have been closely monitoring local and state public health guidelines. It is our strongly held position that the health and safety of our community comes first, and while we were hopeful to see a quick end to this saddening health crisis, we have resolved ourselves that our traditional format will not be feasible at this time. We are currently making new digital streaming arrangements so we can share a virtual day of film with all of our members, sponsors and community partners. A new date for streaming film will be shared with you soon. We want to thank all of our Fresno Reel Pride family for their continuous support. We can’t wait to see everyone again in the near future.
