Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDOR) in short is an annual observance on November 20 that honors the memory of the transgender people whose lives were lost in acts of anti-transgender violence (See Mike’s post for more information regarding TDOR). The Trevor Project will livestream on Instagram at November 20 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET in honor of TDOR and will touch on a variety of topics, such as:
- How to support and uplift transgender and nonbinary people in our community, and how to take care of ourselves in the process
- Everyday things that cisgender people can do to create a safer world for transgender and nonbinary people
- The Trevor Project’s resources to support the mental health of transgender and nonbinary youth
If you don’t have an Instagram account, now would be the time to create one if you wish to participate in or watch the livestream. If not, I would reckon it would get uploaded to YouTube; numerous LGBTQ+ centers already have or are planning on TDOR virtual events. I also posted below an upcoming candlelight vigil livestream via YouTube.
What a great day! I’ve never heard of this before.
thanks so much for this guys…it made me smile!
