PSA: Measles Exposure at Fresno Airport

Just a repeat of a bit of news that everyone should heed. Various news sites, especially this article from ABC News, has warned about possible exposure to measles if you were inside the Fresno Yosemite airport (or worse, the flight) on May 19 after 8pm, when the plane parked at Gate 11. The specific flight was United Airlines flight 5591, from LAX to FAT. Measles is super contagious (90% of those exposed will get it if not vaccinated), and is known to inflict immune amnesia, which is essentially a reset of your immune system’s memory against prior diseases.

Now would a good time to check if you ever received (or need to update) a vaccine against it, which is currently bundled as a MMR (Measles, Mumps, and Rubella) vaccination. It should be available at plenty of places (for free); I know Walmart is one of them because I went through this when I went to Fresno State University, which had me check my blood for disease immunity (I didn’t have a record), with measles being the one disease I didn’t have immunity against.
